PAWSitively Dachshunds!

AKC Miniature Dachshunds

Hello and Welcome to PAWSitively Dachshunds!

Miniature Dachshunds Breeder

Our Kennel is a small, family run kennel in which our primary focus is to breed miniature dachshunds that exemplify the standard in conformation, temperament and good health. We are devoted to producing quality, happy and healthy Dachshunds. Chocolate & Tan, Black & Tan, Red, Sable, Dapple and Piebald puppies are available to approved, responsible and caring homes. We usually have only a few litters a year so early inquiries are suggested.

Our goal is to provide you with a happy healthy Miniature Dachshund so that is why our dogs have access to lots of love, fresh air, grass and sunshine. Our dogs are raised with children and are a BIG part of our family. They are born in my bedroom and raised in the house.  They have adequate room to run in a fenced yard and are never placed in a kennel or cage. Puppies are well socialized and desensitization (stroking toes, touching teeth, messing with ears, nails trimmed, etc. to instill trust) is started and therefore leaves our home as happy, outgoing puppies.

Puppies are placed in new homes at approximately 9 to 12 weeks of age. They are immunized (appropriate for their age), and are eligible for registration through the American Kennel Club. Puppies are also well on their way to being crate and house trained (which ever you will use) before they leave us.

In my opinion the Miniature Dachshund is the finest pet one could ever own.  Miniature Dachshunds have been a part of my life for the past 25 years and always will be!!  Miniature Dachshunds are small, smart, loyal, loving, very fast learning, are excellent with children, and have a good temperament, all of which make them one of the most popular dog breeds in the world.  All of our dogs have spacious areas to run, get plenty of love and affection and are a part of our home life.  We love all of our dogs, and see to it that the mothers get special nutrition from gestation through nursing.

Your puppy will receive the utmost care from birth through the entire nursing process.  Your puppy will receive shots for Parvo, Distemper, Adenovirus, Type 2, Parainfluenza, and will be wormed at the appropriate age. You will get record of these with your puppy.  Your puppy will be eligible for registration through the American Kennel Club.

Buying a puppy is a very big decision and is not one that a person should rush into. If I do not have a puppy that you are interested in or do not have any available, please feel free to ask me if I know of anyone that does. Often times, I do. I have been in the business long enough to have met many very loving people as well as many very heartless people, unfortunately. Let me help you find someone that loves his or her dogs. Do not resort to buying from a pet shop, flea market, or puppy mill. Buying the wrong puppy may bring disease into your home that harms or kills your other dogs. You may also end up with a puppy that will not look like you wanted him or her to look. You need to see the parents to see how the puppy will look. The parents should look happy and healthy. Looking spoiled is even better. Be picky and take your time. There are many responsible loving places to buy puppies from. You just need to research.

My goal as a responsible breeder is to strive to provide the best possible quality puppies with the correct type and temperament for each household. My puppies are carefully bred and well socialized, being born and raised in my home, so they will be beautiful, as well as wonderfully adjusted family companions. We breed smooth, longhair, and wirehair, with colors including red, sable, chocolate & tan, black & tan, dapple and occasionally piebald. Prices, pictures, pedigrees and references can be mailed upon request. We never sell to pet stores, puppy brokers or puppy mills.  We want our pups to have the best home with people who will love them as part of their family. We feed ProPac puppy food at PAWSitively; you will receive a sample of this with your puppy. We have tried several brands of food on our dachsies and have found it to be the best to provide adequate nutrition, shiny coat and the least amount of waste. If you have trouble finding this food, contact me and I will help you find a dealer or aid you in finding a substitute.
